St. Martin's Church, located behind Tucker High School, was
founded in 1964.
Our Parish is named after Martin, the Bishop of Tours. Martin
converted to Christianity as a teenager. While on horseback,
as a centurion in the Roman Army, in the city of Amiens
in France, he met a beggar. Having nothing to give but the clothes
on his back, he cut his officer's cloak in half and gave half
of it to the beggar. Later, Jesus appeared to him in a vision
wearing the cloak, and thanking Martin for his gift.
St. Martin's Church is in the "High Church Tradition", with
the 10 a.m. service being a sung liturgy.
